...hope i've spelt that correctlyLOL
Has anyone had any experience of this drug??
As you'll probably be aware from another thread, I'm taking oral prednisolone and experiencing flare after flare. We are currently trying for a baby. Rheummy nurse called me today and after speaking to consultant has told me to increase to 10mg pred and reduce back to 5mg a week before I see the nurse in april. If I am flaring then they will discuss asothyaprin whilst we are TTC.

Hi Claire

It is also known as Imuran (I think this is easier to spell). I am a big fan of this drug as I have tried and failed on so many DMARD's. This is the first one to do something for me. I will be on it 2 years in April.

Hi claire

it is a really good drug for RA and it is used widely for people who have had organ transplants who often go onto TTC so they know it is pretty safe.

they will watch the white cell count and others.

I am on it at the moment, not been able to tollerate a lot of the drugs but tollerance wise this seems to be ok so far.

Hi Claire,

I spent all my teen years on this med and had NO problem whatsoever with it. Before MTX became as popular this was THE drug to take! LOL

You will need to be weighed as they dose you according to weight and size...and they take bloods usually every 6/8 weeks to check FBC etc.

It is entirely safe throughout pregnancy too as it is used for kidney transplants so women who have had a transplant and then become pregnant obviously are unable to come off this med...

I hope you do very very well on this med, please let me know!

Much love,

Amanda
